Buying for certain loved one can be one of the hardest tasks of the Christmas season–how do you choose a meaningful gift for someone you care about, when it seems like they have everything they need or want?
Some of the best gifts aren’t necessarily the newest or fanciest things, but items that are thoughtful and helpful to everyday life. Many times, there are easy-to-use gadgets that your parents or other loved ones would find useful, but they need someone to take the time to show them how to set them up and use them. We compiled a list of a few different items in all different price ranges that may be perfect for those hard-to-buy-for this Christmas, and the gift of time setting up the item can be part of the giving this year!
Apple Airpods
If your recipient uses a smartphone, the Apple Airpods could be the perfect gift that they never knew they needed! They are comfortable to wear, the battery lasts for a long time, they charge quickly, and they provide crystal clear sound for making phone calls, listening to music or audiobooks, and watching TV. These range in price around $160, but keep an eye out for some great Black Friday deals on these popular tech accessories.
A Robotic Vacuum
This is another one of those things that sounds a little frivolous or useless, but once you start using it, you’re hooked! My experience is limited to the iRobot Roomba line, but these robotic vacuums can be extremely handy once you get it set-up and learn how it works. We highly recommend these for folks who may have a lot of pets and want a nightly vacuum done to the floors after they go to bed, those with small children (or grandchildren) around, or those are may not be able to handle heavy vacuums anymore.
A Spotify Account
This gift idea isn’t too pricey, but it can be a fun app to have if your loved one likes music. With Spotify, they can access thousands of albums and songs and listen to them free of commercials. It can be used with smart TVs, in the car, on their phones, or through devices like Amazon Echos or Google Homes.
A Fitbit
Another fun gift could be an activity tracker. Not only will this device track their steps, remind them to be active, and set goals for their day, it can also serve to set reminders and alert them to phone calls and text messages. They make some smaller profile designs for those who want a minimalistic accessory, and the larger styles offer even more functions like touch screens!
Tile
Everyone should own a Tile, which is a small device that can connect to your keys, wallet, or any other items that you’re frequently misplacing. By pressing a button on your phone, the Tile device will beep until you find it. And it works in reverse too! When you can’t find your phone, simply press the button on your keys to cause your phone to beep until it’s found!
Don’t let the stress of finding the perfect gift steal the joy of this Christmas season for you–in the end, the best gifts don’t come in packages, but these are some fun and useful items that could be a great choice to place under the tree for that loved one in your life!
